Durham, NC—Local community mentoring center Star Foundation (www.star-foundation.org) is beginning to shine again as they come together for their first community festival Sat. May 23 at the Zafa Temple on S. Alston Ave in Durham, from 1—7 pm.

The festivities will include an array of children's activities, including a clown, face painting, a bounce house and games, as well as a fire truck and police motorcycles for the kids to pose on for pictures.

There will be food from Chloe's for you and your hungry kids to eat throughout the afternoon, as well as other food vendors like Chick-Fil-A giving out samples and coupons. There will be a variety of merchandise vendors promoting their wares for you to buy and experience, as well as some community sponsors and partners, who will be helping us with some of the expenses needed for our 10-week full day summer camp from June 15—Aug 21.

There will be raffles for you to win prizes from, including a vacation, groceries and free gasoline! A DJ will be taking the stage from 1—5 pm, and doing karaoke from 4—5 pm.

A local karaoke group is coming for the festivities, and everyone is welcome to join in and have some fun! From 5—7 pm, Father Son and Soul is performing and it should be a delight for all to hear, as they are known locally for their talent.
