DURHAM COUNTY, N.C.

The whole deal about looking for love in all the wrong places? Doresa Armstrong can tell you all about that. "My life was seeking attention by any means necessary." My father was a heroin addict. The man died when he was 42. Let us just say our relationship was not very great. Therefore, I sought guys to provide the male attention that I did not get from daddy. I would get into unhealthy relationships with men and just hang on. Much like the prodigal son, I came to my senses. I realized God had something better for me. In addition, I wound up launching Daughters without Dads Inc, an organization that is about making whole the broken spirits of girls, young women and adult women who know what it is not to have around the individual who was supposed to be the No. 1 guy during each of their formative years. The mission of Daughters without Dads, Inc, is making women whole, one life at a time with a conglomerate of comprehensive support and educational services are offered to girls and women in the Durham County and surrounding region. Daughter's without Dads, Inc. focuses on the following issues;

Domestic Violence awareness and prevention,Unplanned pregnancy awareness and prevention,High School/GED graduation, andSelf-esteem and Life skillsAnger Management

Over the past year, Daughter's without Dads have facilitated workshops geared towards helping girls and adult women embrace their identity and strive for a better life. The workshop focuses on building self-esteem, anger management, youth mentoring, single parent counseling etc.

Deadbeat fathers are not the sole focus here. A young lady or woman may not have had her dad around due to illness or death or something else.No doubt, it is also about hearts being healed, something about which I could tell you plenty. "I earned this ministry the hard way.
