Passing Motorist Drops Off Shooting Victim At Durham Hospital

DURHAM, N.C. -

A man is recovering in the hospital from a gun shot wound after a passing motorist transported the victim to the hospital.

According to a press release from the Durham PD, officers were called to the Durham Regional Hospital shortly after 10:30 Thursday night in reference to a shooting victim, who was dropped off by a passing motorist.

The male victim said he was walking westbound on Horton Road from Thames Avenue, when he heard a gun shot sound and realized he had been shot in the buttocks. The man said he walked into the roadway and flagged down a passing motorist.

Police are still investigating the shooting and say they do not have a motive or suspect descriptions at this time. The name of the victim is also being withheld.
