A Duke University police officer charged with raping an Alabama woman is no longer receiving pay from the University.
Webster Delenn Simmons, 37, of Rougemont was charged with felony first-degree rape and first-degree sodomy.
He was originally suspended with pay in October, but that changed to unpaid Nov. 3. He remains employed by the University.
Police believe Simmons was visiting family near Dothan, Ala. at the time of the charges.
Police said the 34-year-old victim and Simmons were at a local nightclub before the assault, which occurred inside Simmons' vehicle.
Detectives seized evidence including two pair of handcuffs, a ball gag, thick rope, an unknown power source with wires attached to a nail, along with a whip and flog.
Detectives said the victim was possibly drugged and woke up early the next morning, handcuffed and with a ball gag in her mouth.
According to University police, the internal review of the charges against Simmons continues.
Simmons remains in jail in Alabama.

DUKE's image always takes precedent over the CRIME, that is, ALLEGED CRIMES. He remains employed by the University and he remains in jail. nuff said
