Durham police are investigating a bank robbery that was reported Friday afternoon at SOUTHBank at 400 West Main Street in downtown Durham.
A male entered the bank around 4:15 p.m., asked an employee some questions and then demanded money. No weapon was shown during the robbery.
The male fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen running out the back door toward Morgan Street.
The suspect was described as a dark-complected black male, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall wearing a plaid overcoat with a hood and dark pants. He was carrying a bag similar to a laptop computer bag with a shoulder strap.
