DURHAM, N.C. -

A Duke University student said he was robbed of a cell phone early Wednesday as he walked along a trail in the Sarah P. Duke Gardens.

The male student said he entered the gardens about 6:30 a.m. at the Lewis Street entrance, off Anderson Street, and was walking on a trail when a man approached him and asked for money, according to Duke Police. When told no by the student, the suspect approached the student in a threatening manner with a knife and a struggle ensued, Duke Police said.
