DURHAM, N.C. -

iContact, an industry leader in email marketing services to small and mid-sized businesses, has given back $52,000 – equal to 1% of 2008 salaries as part of their Community Giving Program.

At the end of each year iContact selects organizations that are making a difference in the local and global community. In 2008, iContact contributed $1,400 each to thirty-seven 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations.

Local organizations selected included Shriner’s Hospital Children in Greenville, North Carolina; Dress for Success; NC Community Shares; Wake County- Meals on Wheels; and the USO of RTP.

Global charitable organizations selected included Ashoka; Nourish International; One Laptop Per Child Foundation (OLPCF); Humanitarian Emergency Logistics & Preparedness; and the GlobalGiving Foundation.

“We believe it’s important to give back to our community – both locally and internationally,” commented Ryan Allis, CEO and Co-Founder of iContact. “Our success over the last year allows us to make the 2008 contribution that much larger, and helps that many more organizations. I look forward to seeing the impact of the program as we grow in the coming years.”

iContact also matches up to $300 per year in individual employee contributions made towards qualified 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations.

“By empowering our team members with a matching contribution we can help them give back and further assist those in need,” commented Aaron Houghton, Chairman and Co-Founder of iContact.

In 2009, as the email marketing company grows they will continue the Community Giving Program of giving back 1% of the amount of annual salaries.

The iContact Community Giving Program also includes iContact Team members working with Habitat for Humanity on home builds and “giving tree” contributions in December, 2008 to the Orange County, NC Toy Chest Program run by Toys for Tots and Balloons and Tunes to give holiday gifts to families in need.
