After days without hot water, the Johnston County jail got a new boiler Thursday.
The county jail and kitchen had only warm -- or about 80 degree -- water since Friday, according to Johnston County Human Resources Director Pat LaCarter.
Two boilers at the courthouse broke down in the past three weeks. They were about 20 years old.
A backup system provided warm water to the jail and kitchen while a boiler was replaced.
"There was never a time that the jail was completely without warm water," LaCarter said.
The new boiler cost almost $30,000.
