Durham County Story

Durham Park Gets New Playground Equipment

Credit: AP Online
DURHAM, N.C. -

New monkey bars, swings and slides are coming to Old North Durham Park thanks to a donation from Central Park School for Children. The $62,263 gift comes from the Durham Open Space and Trails grant in which CPSC matched funds.

The equipment, which is open to the public, meets all applicable standards and is accessible.

Durham City Council approved the resolution at their Thursday work session meeting.

CPSC is a charter school K-5 adjacent to the Old North Durham Park. In 2005 the school also donated the first round of playground equipment because the school often times has school activities on the site.
