DURHAM, N.C. -
A Durham city firefighter suffered an eye injury after being hit with a straight stream of water from a hose line.
Captain Sean Boone, along with several other firefighters, was battling a fire at an abandoned house Monday night when he was hit. He sustained an injury to his left eye and facial trauma consisting of bruising and swelling.
He was taken to Duke Hospital and was later released.
The abandoned home, located at 210 West Piedmont Street, suffered serious fire damage and the cause of the fire is unknown. Officials said the investigation continues.
