Conditions are much better than everyone anticipated in Durham. Snowfall has been coming down heavy since 4 a.m. Tuesday, but the good news is the ground is still too warm for the white stuff to stick.
Michael Balzarano with the City of Durham Street Maintenance department said his crew started running routes at 4:30 a.m.
"We are still in pretty good shape," Balzarano said. "We just want our guys to be out on the road prepared for anything."
All 22 trucks are manned with salt and will be out on the roadways for most of the morning.
According to Balzarano, no emergency calls from Durham Fire or Police have been made since the snow began to fall in the Bull City.
