CARY, N.C. -
Students at Green Hope High School started a new semester Wednesday with a new feather in their cap.
GreatSchools.com has named the Cary-area high school their "Top Performing" school in the state.
That title takes into account test scores in reading, math and science from all over North Carolina.
Green Hope Principal Jim Hedrick says folks around the school were not too surprised that they won.
"We have a great group of teachers, we have a great group of staff-members," said Hedrick. "We have a great group of students who take academics seriously, who approach their studies seriously."
The same rankings gave another Triangle-area school top honors: Raleigh Charter High School took home the Parents' Choice for best public school.
