Remembering Fallen Soldier From Apex

APEX, N.C. -

Join the family and friends of a fallen Apex soldier for the 1st Annual Sgt. Lance Eakes Memorial Fund Golf Tournament.

The tourney will take place on May 19 at The Preserves at Jordan Lake.

There will be lunch, and dinner for all and prizes for those lucky players. The fee to participate is $95 a person and the deadline to enter is May.

Sgt. Eakes joined the Army National Guard following the events of Sept. 11. Eakes, 25, of the 1132nd Military Police Company was serving his second tour of duty when he was killed in Action on April 18 2008. He was a gunner on top of the Humvee while on the combat patrol near Baghdad.
