CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -

Volunteers are invited to help build trails at the Southern Community Park at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 6.

The project will involve building a trail from Dogwood Acres Drive to the greenway trail near Scroggs Elementary School.

 All volunteers should meet at the Dogwood Acres Drive parking lot. Trail builders should bring the following if possible:

* stiff rakes (the stiff steel kind, not the flexible type for raking leaves)
* loppers for cutting branches and small trees/bushes
* work gloves
* appropriate clothes and footwear

The trail building project will occur after the park's dedication ceremonies starting at 10 a.m. June 6. All the community is invited to participate in the dedication events.

If you plan to join the trail building session, please contact Bill Webster at (919) 968-2819 or bwebster@townofchapelhill.org.
