DURHAM, N.C. -
The suspect accused in connection with the death of a 19-year-old turned himself in Tuesday night, according to police.
Marcus D. Cox is charged with shooting Lamont Monty Brandon Jr. to death on North Hyde Park Avenue on Oct. 14 last year.
Police say Brandon and Way Holloway, 25, were riding a moped on North Hyde Park Avenue when a man got out of a car and fired several shots at the two. Brandon was taken to Duke University Hospital for treatment, but later died.
Last November investigators arrested Alton Dewayne “Popeye” Sanders, 24, and charged him with murder in the case.
Cox is charged with one count of first degree murder.
