A state trooper has been relieved of his duties after being charged with DWI.
Durham Police charged John C. Fogg, 40, with DWI on Friday afternoon after he was involved in a collision with another vehicle on the Durham Freeway.
Capt. Everett Clendenin, public information officer for the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, said Fogg was off duty in his personnel vehicle at the time of the collision.
Clendenin said Fogg's blood alcohol level at the time was 0.17.
Fogg is based out of Wilson County and has been a trooper since August 2007.
Clendenin said Col. Walter Wilson Jr. ordered an internal investigation and relieved Fogg of his duties pending the outcome of the investigation.

it's ironic, but at least it doesn't happen that often. i mean, the overwhelming majority of law officials abide by the law. also, we have to remember that " cops are people too " ;o) they are human, thus fallible.

how come they mentioned it was is own vehicle who gives a rats butt, the man was still drunk and got into a wreck the funny thing is i wonder how many people he has arrested for DWI. so he knew he was breaking the law and continued to do it anyway. how come they did,nt mentioned if he was locked up and had to post a bond or did they let somebody come n pic him up its getting old now that these cops are getting away with just about everything
