It appears Cleveland will be the next stop on Shaquille O'Neal's journey through the NBA. And once again he'll be paired with a superstar.
Two people with knowledge of the deal tell The Associated Press the Cavaliers and Phoenix Suns have reached an agreement in principle on a deal that would send center Ben Wallace, guard Sasha Pavlovic, a second-round pick in tonight's draft and cash to Phoenix in exchange for Shaq.
The 37-year-old O'Neal began his career with Penny Hardaway in Orlando before moving on to Los Angeles, where he teamed with Kobe Bryant to win three titles with the Lakers. Then it was on to Miami and another championship with Dwyane Wade as his sidekick with the Heat. After failing to win a title alongside Steve Nash in Phoenix, O'Neal will be teamed with league MVP LeBron James in Cleveland.
Shaq averaged 17.8 points and 8.4 rebounds last season and appeared in his 15th All-Star game.
