MORRISVILLE, N.C. -

Four seats on Morrisville's Town Council will reach their expiration terms in December of 2009.

Therefore, there will be four seats available to be filled, either by the current Council Member, or another interested resident, during the November 3rd election.

The offices considered this election will be: Mayor (Mayor Faulkner has filed for reelection), At-Large Council Member (Council Member Murry has not officially announced his intentions), District 2 Council Member (Council Member Stohlman has filed for reelection); and District 4 Council Member (Council Member Snyder will not seek reelection).

The candidate filing period for appointment to the Morrisville Town Council is July 6-17, 2009.

Candidates must file at the Wake County Board of Elections office, 337 S. Salisbury Street, downtown Raleigh.

Visit www.wakegov.com/elections for more information about the process of filing for candidacy.

Serving on the Council requires time and dedication, meeting twice each month regularly, in addition to work sessions and other special projects.

Learn more about these responsibilities from the Town Clerk at 463-6151 or email ddavis@townofmorrisville.org.
