Food Lion will relaunch 22 stores Friday designed to serve the growing Hispanic population in the greater Triangle region.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at noon Friday at the Raleigh Food Lion at 3151 Capital Blvd.
Food Lion relaunches 22 of its Triangle-area stores with a new "Sabor Latino," or Latin Flavor, theme.
Officials said Food Lion has integrated nearly 1,000 hard-to-find Hispanic grocery items into these stores, including bolillo rolls, tres leches cakes, boniato, jicama and specialized cuts of meat. These products are in addition to the other products Food Lion carries today.
The celebration will include appearances by Raleigh Mayor Charles Meeker and other community officials, Food Lion executives, product sampling, giveaways and health screenings.
