Those who loved Kelly Currin Morris never thought they'd be standing at the Creedmoor Baptist Church one year later lighting candles, praying, and still not knowing where she is.

"We're just wanting to hear something," said Brad Brogden, Morris' relative.

Morris disappeared on Sept. 3, 2008 after her husband said she went looking for the family dog. Her husband, Scott, has been named a person of interest in the case but so far, no one is sure what happened to her.

Still, one year later, Morris is very much on the hearts and minds of those in Creedmoor.

"A lot of people still talk and are praying and hoping something good comes out of everything," said Brogden.

At Thursday's vigil, a pastor read scripture to about 200 people who attended. They also released three doves that represented the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. Many people wore bracelets and shirts in Morris' honor.

Kelly's father, Pat Currin, said it's that kind of support that's been getting the family though this difficult time.

"So many people have poured their heart out, time, effort and money for this effort to find Kelly," Currin said.

Currin said his daughter's disappearance is suspicious because she never would have left her two young girls.

But Currin said he still has hope.

"Our main focus is we refuse to give up," he said. "Even though it's been a year we are still dedicated to finding Kelly and what happend to Kelly."
