CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C.

A Cumberland County man has been accused of stealing cable television services and damaging wires and other telecommunications equipment.

Marcel Damiano Campbell, 24, of 799 Algood Ave., Hope Mills was arrested on Sept. 16 after a Time Warner Cable technician reported the alleged theft. The technician says Campbell became combative when he attempted to disconnect service that was being pirated to the suspect's home. The wire tampering also caused service interruption for other subscribers in Campbell's neighborhood.

Campbell was placed in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $2,000 bond.

He is expected to make his first court appearance Thursday at 2:30 p.m.
