Hundreds turned out Saturday morning at Lake Crabtree Park in Morrisville for the second annual Hemophilia Walk.
Thirty-five teams of walkers joined people with hemophilia, health care workers and other individuals to help raise awareness of bleeding disorders that affect more than 80 thousand people in North Carolina.
Tony Huff, of Mebane, said it was a blessing to see so many people turn out to support him and others with the disorder.
"People think you're just cut and that's it - you just bleed a long time and then you stop and that's not the case. You can really hurt yourself," he said. "I would just like people to know that it's really very serious."
The event raised more than $82,000 for research and education about hemophilia and bleeding disorders. Click on the video link above to learn more about hemophilia and the walk.
