An overnight fire at a Morrisville apartment complex has displaced 55 residents.
The fire at Camden Westwood Apartments at Summit Ridge Loop and Chapel Hill Road in Morrisville was reported at about 2 a.m. No injuries have been reported.
Although the official cause has not been determined, investigators believe the fire may have started on a third floor balcony. The fire caused the attic of one of the buildings to collapse but firefighters were able to keep the building itself from collapsing. Nine units were destroyed.
According to a Morrisville Town Manager John Whitson, all of the residents are being housed onsite at the complex in unoccupied apartments.
Three fire departments responded to the scene and found one apartment building fully involved when they arrived.
Stay with NBC17 as information becomes available.

Karl has been checking the assigned garages for donated items each day since the fire and has been able to pick up several much needed necessities.People have also donated stuff for my cat as well! He even managed to grab a bed that somebody donated! Thank you to everybody who has helped out in this time of need. All he really needs now is furniture. (Dresser, coffee table, couch, desk, and TV Stand.)

Yes Karen, it was Karl Konrad and my kitten (Mary Jane). She is very much alive but in pain. Her paws got burnt in the fire and she is in pain. If you know of a vet who will look at her for Karl and I, please let me know. I have been out of work and Karl lost a lot of money along with his wallet in the fire.

Thank you Karen. I will get this out to everyone in our neighborhood and will mention it tonight at the Candidate's Forum at Morrisville Town Hall. We will be making a trip to Walmart and then drop off some new items by Saturday. Thank you for sharing the information.

Hi Nicole. Was it Carl Conrad? I was standing a couple of feet from him and his wife during the fire (I live at CW in the building across from his). At that point the cat was still missing and presumed dead. I was so relieved to hear that they reunited the cat with the owners...

I know one of the people who's unit was completely destroyed. He lost everything but my cat (who was staying wit him) and the one pair of jeans, 1 pair of shoes, and the 1 shirt he managed to grab. Nothing was salvagable except a few kitchen utensils so much his needed.

If anyone is pulling together items for those displaced, please post here to let us know how we can help. If not, I will touch base with the Apartment Complex to see how we can help these families out.
