Local Publishers Accept Manuscripts for Review at Author Showcase at Raleigh Falls River Town Center

Jon Batson, award winning Raleigh writer and owner of Midnight Whistler Publishers to moderate publishers panel discussion at Falls River Books, Sunday, October 25th, 2009.

Raleigh, NC—October 25, 2009 -- Local North Carolina publishers and authors team up at North Raleigh's Author Showcase, co-sponsored by the NC Writers' Network, to provide an enriching experience to readers, writers, and literary aficionados. The free event runs from 1:00pm—7:30pm with two informative panel discussions and an entertaining literary open mic in the evening.

Writer/editor Alice Osborn (http://AliceOsborn.com) will moderate the author panel discussions from 1-3pm at Amazingtone Music at Falls River Town Center. Author panelists Suzanne Adair, Anne Barnhill, Diane Chamberlain, Sara Claytor, Richard Krawiec, Bruce Lader, Alexandra Sokoloff, Patricia Terrell, and Perry Deane Young will discuss the creative process, where to get ideas from, character development and more.

Jon Batson of Midnight Whistler Publishers (http://www.JonBatson.com) will moderate the next panel discussion with local publishers Algonquin, Ivy House, Press 53 and Outerbanks Publishing and. The one-hour session will take place at Falls River Books from 3:30—4:30pm. Attendees will learn about submission guidelines and other information writers need to know to get their works published. Hosting is shop owner Steven Elliot (http://www.FallsRiverBooks.com). Several publishers will be accepting manuscripts for review.

Writer Megan Cutter (http://www.CuttersWorld.com) will facilitate the literary open mic from 5:30—7:30pm at Falls River Books. 15 writers of short fiction, poetry and memoirs will entertain. Enjoy wine, cheese and other tasty treats.

Falls River Town Center is located in Raleigh north of 540 off of Durant Rd.
