DURHAM, N.C. -
The 300 North Duke Street and Main Street offices of the Durham County Department of Social Services (DSS) are experiencing sporadic telephone communication issues. Some staff members are experiencing intermittent difficulty receiving inbound calls. DSS' call center number, 560-8000, is now having similar problems.
Currently, Verizon is running diagnostics on phone lines. The process will last for about 20 minutes. During this time there will be no phone service at the Duke Street office. Durham County Government continues to work closely with Verizon and Cisco Systems to resolve the problem.
