GARNER, N.C. -

It's all about the Boom Boom Pow for the Garner "G" Squad dance member Theresa Patterson.

"I can let myself go when I'm dancing," Patterson said.

For her, dancing to a Black Eye Peas' song gets her moving.

"I'm the oldest of the group, I'm 75," Patterson said.

Then there's Patricia Hill, shakin' her stuff.

"It's amazing when you can be 60 and be the youngest," Hill said.

But they all said, including the only male dancer Tom O'Connell, that age is just a number and it's the dancing the counts.

"For seniors to do it, it's outrageous and fun," O'Connell said.

They said it's a great form of exercise but comes with some challenges, even for the young at heart.

"The mind doesn't work as well as it used remember the steps and once the mind gets it the body needs to catch up," Hill said.

But the "G" Squad's coach Nancy Hulbert said they don't let anything get in their way, working up to one goal.

"Our goal fantasy wise, is to be the opening act for the Black Eyed Peas," Hulbert said.

But for now, they're staying local performing for the Garner community where they got their start.

The group's next performance is Saturday, Feb. 13 at the Garner Senior Center.
