Durham Tech, League of Women Voters Sponsor Panel On Immigration

DURHAM, N.C. -

On Thursday, March 11, the League of Women Voters of Orange, Durham, and Chatham Counties and Durham Technical Community College's Center for the Global Learner are co-sponsoring a discussion, "Immigration in North Carolina: Where Are We Now?"

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Collins Building, room 278.

A panel of state immigration experts will present information relevant to the state and Orange, Durham, and Chatham Counties. A question and answer session will follow.

Speakers include: Marty Rosenbluth, staff attorney, Southern Coalition for Social Justice; Mauricio Castro, organizer for the North Carolina Latino Coalition; Irene Godinez, district director, Reform Immigration For America; and Katherine Woomer-Deters, Carolina's Immigrants' Rights Project. The program is free and open to the public.
